I am proud to report that one of the rising stars of female football at Maccabi FC Caulfield is young Safia Rammuno, who at only 15 years young is a regular part of the women’s Queen Bees squad each week.
Safia shows a knowledge of football beyond her age and is often spoken about among the older players in the squad as someone to watch out for.
On Sunday 26 May Safia had the opportunity to play at the Home of the Matildas against the Melbourne Victory Afghani womens team and certainly held her own with time on the field in both halves.
Safia is a product of the female football pathway that we started a few years back, that goes from 5 year old girls in the Little Strikers all the way through juniors, seniors, mums and even Walking Football.
We expect that Safia will grab these opportunities with both hands and create her own successful football pathway in the future.
I am thrilled to see such opportunities present themselves to young Maccabi FC players who put in the time and effort to make it come together. Thanks to all involved at Maccabi FC for allowing such a wonderful talent to shine at such a young age.
Safia has a wonderful football future ahead of her, only she can determine how high the bar will be set.
